Transportation
• Vehicles: 2x Toyota Land Cruiser 4x4 Jeeps and food supplies due to the remote nature of the Gobi-Altai leg
• Fuel: All fuel and road taxes included
Accommodation Logic
• Cities/Standard Areas: 4* Hotels in UB and Uliastai; Tourist Ger Camps in Kharkhorin, and Khyargas
• Deep Desert (Days 4, 5, 6, 8, 9): Due to the remote locations (Shar Soum, Khoonos Us, Khovd countryside), there are no tourist camps. Accommodation is provided via Expedition Tents or staying with local Nomadic Families. Facilities are basic (pit toilets, no showers)
Mindset
• This is an expedition route with long driving days (up to 8-10 hours) on rough, unpaved tracks
Clothing
• Layers are essential. The Gobi-Altai desert is hot by day (30°C+) but nights near the lakes and mountains drop below freezing
Gear
• Flashlights for caves/camping, wet wipes, strong hiking boots, and a power bank (no electricity on days 4-6)
